Pilgramage in Spain

June 6 - 21, 2011

- photos by Frank Hulsman

Here are links to several different photo albums capturing the St. Xavier High School summer trip to Spain. We spent a week touring various Spanish cities. Next, a week hiking the "Camino de Santiago" (The Way of Saint James), a 100 mile pilgrimage hike across part of northern Spain, ending in the Cathedral in Santiago, where we were able to attend mass and see the vessel holding St. James' remains.

When you get to a page which shows the photos, a little bit of navigation advice:
- You can click on a photo to get an enlarged version, suitable for prints, or for posting on another site.
- I added descriptions to the photos.  The description is posted just below the photos, you may have to scroll down to see them.
- The photos of the Camino (the last link, below) are not all in sequential order.  Generally they are in this order:
   1.  Major stepping stones along the hike
   2.  Photos of our accommodations (the albergues and restaurants) - Here you will see many pictures of the students
   3.  Scenes along the Camino
   4.  Trail markers and signs
   5.  Photos of James' hat and it's journey with us on the Camino de Santiago.

Please Note: Some of the photos were "photoshopped", especially the ones where I pieced several together into a panoramic images.
